This article presents the results of a pioneering study that examined the impact of integrating emerging technologies in the classroom on active learning in the Bocas del Toro region, Panama. In a context where education faces constant challenges to keep up with technological advancements, the study adopted a Content Analysis approach to investigate this educational transformation. The research focused on a rural school where teacher Ana implemented technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality, and mobile educational applications to foster active learning among elementary students. Over several months, researchers observed students' interactions with these tools, recording their participation, engagement, and academic performance. Through Content Analysis, the experiences, opinions, and perceptions of the students were carefully examined, along with direct observations of classroom sessions. Emerging patterns were identified in how students engaged with the technologies, how these influenced their motivation, and how they impacted their process of active learning. The findings suggest that integrating emerging technologies in specific educational settings, such as the Bocas del Toro region in Panama, can have a significant impact on active learning and student engagement. This study provides an intriguing starting point for future research on effective strategies to make the most of these technological tools for the educational development in similar contexts.
