Currently, dyes with complex formulations are used that could cause harmful effects to health. Among the compounds contained in the dyes, lead, cobalt, nickel and mercury stand out. Objective: The objective of the research was to evaluate the association of heavy metal levels (Pb, Co, Ni, Hg) with hematological parameters, alkaline phosphatase, TGO and TGP in people who use hair dyes. Methodology: A descriptive and cross-sectional research was carried out, with the participation of 20 people from the Jiménez municipality of Lara state, who met the criteria established in the work. For the determination of metals, atomic absorption spectrophotometry was used, and automated methods for hematological parameters, alkaline phosphatase, TGO and TGP. Results: The concentrations of metals in the participants presented a significant increase compared to the control group. An association was observed in the increase of heavy metals in the study group depending on the time of use of the dyes (A r=0.998; B r= 0.999; C r=0.997). The values of some hematological parameters (hemoglobin, white and platelet counts) decreased, indicative of a negative association depending on the time of use of hair dyes. Liver biomarkers with respect to time of use of hair dyes show a positive association for alkaline phosphatase, TGO and TGP. Conclusions: Considering these results, it is recommended to disseminate the effects caused by the use of hair dyes among the general public and mainly among their users.
2024-05-14T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Multidisciplinary & Health Education Journal http://journalmhe.org/ojs3/index.php/jmhe/article/view/147Causes of Criminal Behavior2024-03-30T20:39:07+00:00Eros Montalvoacademica@claustrogomez.org
The study of human behavior, a longstanding concern, has sparked debates and criticism among scholars throughout history. This interest has led to the involvement of legal and penal institutions. Science has approached human development and the origins of behavior from various perspectives, with normative science regulating behavior according to legal norms and causal-explanatory science investigating its origins within society. Applied sciences, on the other hand, utilize scientific methods to provide practical solutions. Criminology, although focused on the study of crime, addresses a wide range of behaviors within society. Efforts to understand and address the causes of criminal behavior are essential for developing effective strategies for prevention and social rehabilitation.
2024-05-14T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Multidisciplinary & Health Education Journal http://journalmhe.org/ojs3/index.php/jmhe/article/view/152Effectiveness in the omega 3 (Fish) and vitamin D supplementation during the gestational period for the prevention of various allergies in the 0-1 year old infant2024-03-31T03:36:13+00:00Vianneth Limaacademica@claustrogomez.orgArianna Lourdes Barriosacademica@claustrogomez.orgKenia Lawrenceacademica@claustrogomez.org
The study examines the effectiveness of omega-3 (fish) and vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy to prevent allergies in infants aged 0 to 1 year. Using evidence-based clinical practice methodology, data from 334 articles were collected and categorized, with 9 selected based on specific criteria. A critical analysis was performed using FLC 2.0, and evidence was classified according to the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care. Despite the recognized multiple benefits of vitamin D and omega-3, the lack of studies with conclusive results hinders generalization or recommendation in clinical practice. Although it is suggested that the combination of both could improve maternal, fetal, and infant health, the absence of solid evidence highlights the need for further research. In conclusion, while potential benefits are acknowledged, the lack of conclusive studies underscores caution in recommending joint supplementation of vitamin D and omega-3 during pregnancy for the prevention of allergies in infants.
2024-05-14T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Multidisciplinary & Health Education Journal http://journalmhe.org/ojs3/index.php/jmhe/article/view/162The Duty to Have a Good Healthy Lifestyle for Boys, Girls and Adolescents in the Province of Veraguas2024-06-24T15:40:23+00:00Lizeika Iryna Valderrama-Gonzalezacademica@claustrogomez.org
The objective of these study is describe the different healthy lifestyles that children and adolescents in the province of Veraguas should have. Based on the results obtained, it can be said that the lifestyle of the boys, girls and young people of this general primary education group can be considered acceptable, since 91.09% of the nutritional status classification is found in normal state. However, some healthy lifestyle variables stand out as protective factors in young people, such as the consumption of fruits, vegetables and dairy products, reducing the consumption of fatty products and good oral and personal health.
2024-05-14T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Multidisciplinary & Health Education Journal http://journalmhe.org/ojs3/index.php/jmhe/article/view/163Importance of teamwork for the quality of healthcare delivery2024-06-24T16:08:35+00:00Fidedigna Rosario-Cruzacademica@claustrogomez.org
In the psychological field, camaraderie and teamwork are working conditions that have a positive impact on a company's human resources, generating enthusiasm and satisfactory results in activities. Companies that promote a harmonious environment experience benefits in both organizational effectiveness and workers' social relationships. It is recognized that people seek to meet social needs in their work environment, considering that every organization is essentially a team made up of its staff. All organizations seek to achieve effective and comprehensive results to meet the demands of their internal and external environment. This is equally applicable to healthcare organizations, where providing high-quality care has become a global priority. To achieve quality in health care, it is essential to implement various elements that work in a coordinated manner. In this context, teamwork, collaboration among its members, commitment and trust between people are essential to achieve this goal, especially in the field of nursing. The purpose of this paper is to explain the relevance of teamwork in improving the quality of medical care.
2024-05-14T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Multidisciplinary & Health Education Journal http://journalmhe.org/ojs3/index.php/jmhe/article/view/145Access to Medium and High Complexity Health Services in the City of Armenia, Colombia 20212024-03-29T22:11:57+00:00Oscar Marino Lopez MallamaOskarmarilo@yahoo.comOrlinson Carabalí-Minaomarinolopez@admon.uniajc.edu.coÍngrid Tatiana Zapata-Carabalíomarinolopez@admon.uniajc.edu.coAlexander Almeida-Espinosaalexander.almeida@correounivalle.edu.coLuis Alberto Vallejo-Moránomarinolopez@admon.uniajc.edu.co
The main objective of this study was to analyze the accessibility to health services in the city of Armenia, Colombia 2021 in medium and high complexity. Scientific problems focus on specific questions that guide research using the scientific method, emphasizing observation, experimentation, and theory formulation, as described by Mario Bunge. Epistemological problems, according to Pedro Guadarrama González, address the nature, validity and justification of scientific knowledge, exploring its logical, methodological and ontological foundations. Bioethical issues, exemplified in the work of Liblik et al., focus on the moral implications of research, particularly in biomedicine and public health, questioning social norms and promoting a reflective and pluralistic approach to the use of psychoactive substances. Finally, complex problems, discussed by Leff et al., address multifaceted phenomena that require an integration of cultural perspectives and diverse knowledge, overcoming traditional dichotomies for a holistic understanding. Campos concludes that in university research it is essential to integrate these problems to develop rigorous, reflective and socially responsible knowledge that addresses contemporary challenges in a contextualized manner.
2024-05-14T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Multidisciplinary & Health Education Journal http://journalmhe.org/ojs3/index.php/jmhe/article/view/166Comparative Study between Immunoglobulin and Plasmapheresis in Landry-Guillain-Barré-Strohl Syndrome, Hospital Central San Cristobal 2012-20172024-06-24T22:12:10+00:00José Luis Molina-Contrerasjoseluismolina1991@gmail.comOmar E. Together, we can ensure that school gardens play a significant role in the fight against these problems that threaten today's society: food insecurity and climate change. To this end, it is necessary to promote habits that improve health, such as a healthier diet, and nutritional, agricultural and environmental education that makes children aware of the need to change things, since future actions and measures to eradicate these problems depend on them. The objectives of school gardens should be aimed at responding to these problems and needs. According to FAO and other national and international agencies, they should be as follows: Improve the quality of education through a more dynamic pedagogy that includes multidisciplinary curricula that combine theoretical, practical and livelihood skills. Strengthen practical skills in agriculture and horticulture through the creation and maintenance of home gardens. Provide active education by linking horticulture to play and recreation, as well as to other subjects such as mathematics, biology, reading and writing. Provide practical lessons in nutrition that promote the production and consumption of healthy foods and a healthy lifestyle. Increase access to education by attracting families to schools that address issues that affect their daily lives. Increase the nutritional quality of the food eaten by children and reduce the number of children who are malnourished or inadequately fed. Improve children's attitudes and knowledge of agriculture and rural life. Educate in environmental sensitivity, contributing to the sustainability of the planet through the inclusion of environmental and ecological training. Offer students an instrument of survival or support for the family economy in times of food shortages or economic difficulties. Especially in underdeveloped countries, increase school attendance and, in many households, compensate for the absence of parents in terms of the transfer of knowledge necessary for the vital development of children and young people. Promote income-generating opportunities. In cities, improve the urban environment and sustainability.
2024-05-14T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Multidisciplinary & Health Education Journal http://journalmhe.org/ojs3/index.php/jmhe/article/view/169Educational Resources and Strategies Implemented in the Virtual Education of Basic Education2024-06-25T01:19:54+00:00Byron Enrique Mora-Avilezbyrforce1@hotmail.comCamila Valeria Mora-Gutiérrezvaleriamora2120@gmail.comJorge Oswaldo Chimbo-Avilesjorgeoswaldol964@yahoo.com
Educating during the pandemic has been a challenge for all education systems globally. The academic community has seen the need for a rapid migration to virtual platforms, which allow teachers and students to interact from home, giving continuity to the face-to-face educational process, limited by the mandatory confinement. As a favorable outlook, the technology market has at its disposal a wide range of tools that can be adapted to didactic strategies, to be applied at different times in the teaching-learning process. However, there are several problems related to the technological infrastructure of the institutions, the digital skills of teachers and the technological gap of the population, which cause the limited and inappropriate use of technology in the first two cases, and exclusion in their training process for many students. This document has been designed as a guiding element, both for educational institutions and for teachers, exposing from a context of analysis, resources and digital materials to be used at different times of the didactic planning of the class; also from an institutional context, with virtual learning platforms that facilitate the digital organization of their academic activity.
2024-05-14T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Multidisciplinary & Health Education Journal http://journalmhe.org/ojs3/index.php/jmhe/article/view/146Political Influence on the Colombian Healthcare Model over the Last Three Decade2024-03-29T22:24:18+00:00Ismael Orlando Chaux-Zambranoalexander.almeida@correounivalle.edu.coOscar Marino Lopez-Mallamaoscar.mallama@correounivalle.edu.coAlexander Almeida-Espinosa alexander.almeida@correounivalle.edu.co
Introduction: The Colombian healthcare system has undergone considerable changes over the years, influenced by economic, social, and political shifts in the country. The introduction of Law 100 of 1993 marked a milestone in this evolution by shifting the focus of the healthcare system from a subsidy to the supply to a subsidy to demand. This transition reflected a change in the role of the State in the provision and regulation of healthcare services, ushering in a model based on regulated competition and private sector participation. The dual structure of the healthcare system, with a contributory regime and a subsidized regime, has been the subject of multiple reforms aimed at improving equity and accessibility of healthcare services for the entire population. Objective: To identify the political influence on the Colombian healthcare system in the last 30 years. Methodology: A descriptive study was conducted, with a qualitative approach. The research design combined the hermeneutic method with documentary analysis. Conclusions: The evolution of the Colombian healthcare system reveals a constant need for adaptation and transformation, reflected in the abundant regulations governing it. However, this regulation appears to respond more to immediate needs than to structural changes that address social demands comprehensively. The disconnect between regulation and its application is due to the constantly changing political, economic, social, and cultural dynamics.
2024-05-14T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Multidisciplinary & Health Education Journal http://journalmhe.org/ojs3/index.php/jmhe/article/view/170Study of Human Papillomavirus infection in the state of Guaira, Venezuela2024-06-25T03:23:42+00:00Dayahindara Veitíacavazzaster@gmail.comMaira Ávilacavazzaster@gmail.comAndreína Fernandescavazzaster@gmail.comDiana Ortízcavazzaster@gmail.comMariana Aurrecoecheacavazzaster@gmail.comJeison Marcanocavazzaster@gmail.comJuan López cavazzaster@gmail.comMaría Correnticavazzaster@gmail.comMaría Eugenia Cavazzacavazzaster@gmail.com
This study aims to contribute to the national data, through HPV screening through molecular biology tests and compares its effectiveness with respect to the Pap smear. 119 female patients were included, from whom the corresponding samples were taken for molecular HPV detection and cytological evaluation of the cervix. These compounds have various functional groups that determine the urinary pH accompanied by the electrolyte balance. Objective: The present study aimed to compare the pH parameter obtained by two brands of test strips with the potentiometric method, also associating it with urinary osmolarity. Materials and methods: 80 urine samples from apparently healthy patients were studied, in which no exclusion criteria were considered. To measure pH, two commercial brands coded as TR1 and TR2 and a Thermo Scientific Orion Lab Star PH111 peachimeter were used. Results: neither of the two brands coincided with the pH value obtained by the peachimeter, and there was also variability between both for the same sample. No correlation was observed between the pH measured by the test strips and urinary osmolarity. The TR2 brand showed pH values in 16 of the 80 samples, obtaining pH values between 7.7 and 8.1 in these same samples with the peachimeter. In 9 of these 16 samples mentioned the pH values were below 6.5 with the TR1 brand. Conclusions: It is evident that there is a lot of discrepancy when establishing the urinary pH by reagent strips when it is close to 7, for this reason it is advisable to establish a criterion to report only this parameter as layered or alkaline if it is not measured by peachimeters.
2024-05-14T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Multidisciplinary & Health Education Journal
