The study examines the effectiveness of omega-3 (fish) and vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy to prevent allergies in infants aged 0 to 1 year. Using evidence-based clinical practice methodology, data from 334 articles were collected and categorized, with 9 selected based on specific criteria. A critical analysis was performed using FLC 2.0, and evidence was classified according to the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care. Despite the recognized multiple benefits of vitamin D and omega-3, the lack of studies with conclusive results hinders generalization or recommendation in clinical practice. Although it is suggested that the combination of both could improve maternal, fetal, and infant health, the absence of solid evidence highlights the need for further research. In conclusion, while potential benefits are acknowledged, the lack of conclusive studies underscores caution in recommending joint supplementation of vitamin D and omega-3 during pregnancy for the prevention of allergies in infants.
